The 12 Axes is an independent site for taking the 12 Axes political test and understanding the results.
The 12Axes quiz started as an open-source project in the tradition of 8values and 9axes. It became popular in 2026 as people shared their results on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. The original pages are simple and work well on a desktop, but they were built years ago: there is no saved progress, the result page asks you to take a full-page screenshot, and there is little explanation of what each axis means.
What we added
- A design that works on a phone. Big tap targets, one statement at a time and keyboard shortcuts on desktop.
- Saved progress. Close the tab halfway through the full test and pick up where you left off.
- Shareable results. Your result lives in a short link, and you can download a ready-made image of it.
- Compare with a friend. Paste someone's result link to see both of you on the same chart.
- Plain-English explanations. Every axis and every ideology in the results has its own page.
- A fixed ideology match. The original quiz compared the ideology list's diplomacy position with your trade score. We compare it with your diplomacy score, which is what those positions describe.
What we did not change
The statements and the way each answer moves your score follow the original quiz, so results are comparable. See Credits for the source and licence.
Neutrality
We do not tell you which positions are right. Every axis description tries to state both ends the way their own supporters would.
