Closest ideologies
- ConservatismDefends tradition, family, religion and established institutions, favours a market economy and law and order, and sees sudden reform as risky.
- NeoconservatismPairs free-market economics and social conservatism with an assertive foreign policy that is willing to use military power to spread democracy and defend national interests.
- DistributismRooted in Catholic social teaching: ownership of land and business should be spread as widely as possible among families and small proprietors, instead of being concentrated in the state or big corporations.
- Moderate ConservatismValues stability, institutions and gradual change. Accepts much of the modern welfare state and social reform, but prefers caution to upheaval.
